Small Bites

Confession: I read teen novels as well as watch teen tv. There. Said. I don't have to hide anymore.

The U.S. is currently enjoying shows that I won't see until 2012. Exaggeration, it's more like January but it FEELS like 2012.
So,
I went on to itunes.
I think I might have hysterically defended my paying to see Vampire Diaries before I turn 50 by clarifying that I wasn't paying to watch The Good Wife, Glee, Desperate Housewives or Grey's Anatomy even though Derek is shot and may be bleeding to death and that's a lot of blood to lose from now until January,  but I spoke to the wind. Hubby doesn't care if I keep him in his job for the next 40 years while all of his coworkers retire.

The girl-child is becoming my best friend. She walked into my computer room as I was watching a clip that included the painful removal of some fingers and beautiful faces melting into the equivalent of my morning face.
Quickly, I covered her eyes and said, "You shouldn't be in here, this is scary stuff".

"I like scary stuff."

"Sweetie, this has vampires and it will scare you, go back out to Daddy".

(Dad) "Miss Ky, come on out here..."

"No, I'm watching wampires. I like wampires and Mommy likes wampires".

How do you argue with that?

I wonder if she's team Edward?

What are you watching this Fall?

  1. I can not get into the vampire thing. Enjoy. It's much cheaper than flying home b/c of homesickness.

I watched the season premiere of Parenthood last night. Can't wait for The Good Wife (sorry), and watched Life Unexpected a very sappy teen-series that makes me miss watching it with my favorite teen very much.

  2. So far I am watching baseball (still) and football. Ha! I know...I am a traitor to the fall season previews. What can I say!! Sigh!

  3. I'll be watching one of two things:
Titanic-over and over and over again.
    or
In the Womb: Multiples-over and over and over again.
That's what plays at work e.v.e.r.y. day over. and. over. and. over. again.
I'd like to be watching American Idol or Dancing with the Stars. Just depends on my schedule. :)
I think I'm going to have to rent the full season of Vampire Diaries and check it out though.

  4. eek.

My hubby watches that show, and whenever i hear any of it wafting through the house I think it sounds like an overwrought soap opera (and yes, I do watch Desperate Housewives. does that make me a hypocrite?)

  5. I have yet to see any vampire movies or TV shows. The last one of that kind I saw was a long time ago, Interview With a Vampire with Brad Pitt.

  9. Some of my favorite books are YA novels. Loved the Inkheart books and the Redwall series, but I just can't bring myself to join the Twilight legion.

  10. Let's just say I was very happy to watch the Gossip Girl premiere this week:) My dvr is chock full. If you want to avoid paying most networks show the previous weeks episode for free on their site. So you could watch at the same time as us. I also shamelessly watched Pretty Little Liars too. I like teen tv and books too. I wonder where I am on the list at the library for Mockingjay.
