Postcards From the Crazy House

Dear Friends,

  • Having a great time, wish you were here. REALLY wish you were here. Whose idea was this move anyway?!
Anywho, this is the view from my kitchen door. Not too shabby, right?

  • Miss Ky is adjusting, although I didn't expect any less since she has been asking to move from the first week we settled into the old house. She flitted by me the first night, singsonging, "I LOVE this house--by the way, where's the toilet?"
But her quote for the week is,  "According to my calculation, where are the brothers?"
The school has their work cut out for them in September.

  • I've emptied three boxes this morning. Nothing got put away, I just emptied the boxes. It's a start!
  • I have THE BEST BROADBAND EVER!! No more dial-up speed at broadband prices!

And,
  • just for the record, I really don't care if TV rots brains. Three viewings of Rio, one viewing of Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Sponge Bob have allowed me to get my kitchen unpacked.

Rotten brains, but fed tummies. Even trade-off.

Hope you are well, we'll write soon!

  1. Lovely view!

And rotten brains are sweet brains...perfect for unpacking.

According to my calculation, September looks like the perfect month to get settled in, as you'll have more than ten seconds to yourself!

  4. What's a little brain rot?

Miss Ky's quotes had me giggling out loud.

Beautiful view! Especially since this time of year, all of my flowers are fried.

I have nothing against tv at all. Seriously. There is a house to unpack people! ;)

Oh Miss Ky. I can't wait to hear of her adventures at school. That girl rocks! :)

  11. knowing where the toilet is is always a plus. particularly for kids who wipe unknown substances on bathroom walls.

  16. Looks lovely. And as for the tv rotting our children's brains? Hogwash, I've always said. As long as they're not watching Sex and the City or Nightmare on Elm Street, they'll learn a lot of useful stuff.

  17. Yes, from someone who moves a lot- if you want any chance of getting the house into order you just have to say yes to lots of TV :)

  18. Omigosh, Miss Kai is priceless! Have you inquired exactly why she loves the new house? What? No white carpet?

Honestly, there are just times, as a mom, that one must succumb to the mindless boob tube for relief. My kids turned out fine & I relied heavily on Nickelodeon & Sesame Street. They are the reason my children are alive & well. I swear.

  19. Ah Ha! A move! THAT'S why you haven't blogged much. We'll forgive you but only if you come back and post a lot of pics. A new garden? That will be fun!
