Shhh, none of them know where I am.
I know I should be celebrating and toasting the year that was 2011,
but I'm actually feeling a little more like, "Hey, 2011! Don't let the door hit you on your way out!".
So, they're in the kitchen eating really greasy food and laughing over who can make the most annoying sounds and I'm here with you. Yes, one really can have too much family togetherness. Please tell me about your exciting plans so that I can live a little!

Sad,I know, but we are having a quiet evening in with a bottle of bubbly and will watch the fireworks on TV at midnight. A Happy New Year to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteYou know they will find you eventually! haha!
ReplyDeleteI had a nice visit with my brother's family earlier in the day, but they've all gone home now. My sons are off with their friends. So tonight it is just hubby and me and the TV and a quiet night at home. Sorry no excitement to report here.
Happy New Year to you and yours. Wishing you all good things! :)
Girl, I hear ya'. I am partying the old year out, because it can't be over soon enough for me.
ReplyDeleteGood riddance to 2011.
Well, I'm not really partying. Relaxing with the fam, eating greasy, fattening food. Getting drunk on sparkling cider.
Four hours away here in Vegas. It's probably already here for you, but I hope 2012 brings you and your family nothing but awesomeness. (Hoping the same for me too)
Happy New Year!
We have a whole meal from salad to meat and veg, through cheese, to cake, packed in the car, including plates, glasses and cutlery. We had just pulled away from home to trek an hour's drive to bring the feast to daughter and husband who spent the day moving, when a last minute phone call reset the plan for tomorrow lunch instead. By then they hope to have a working refrigerator, heat and a table to sit at. My car smells fabulous. Nothing will spoil and we don't have to drive home in the dark. I feel as though we've been let off the hook. A tranquil end to 2011 to you and the fortitude to face 2012 with optimism.
ReplyDeleteA crappy year sounds like the perfect excuse to eat fried food, drink too much, and laugh too loudly to me. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's kind of what we did around here. We did our traditional appetizer spread with juice (for the kids) in wine glasses. They LOVE that. You'd think it was real wine because shortly afterwards they were all stripping their shirts off and dancing around the living room like maniacs. Kinda funny.
When the kids went to bed Todd and I drank to much and stayed up too late. It was a pretty good time. I've always found that New Years Eve parties are usually overrated anyway. ;)
Happy New Year!
Resting today and watching football!!
ReplyDeleteEating good food and enjoying my hubby!!
Not too exciting! Ha!
Happy New Year
Hugs
SueAnn
I am ready for 2011 to be over too.
ReplyDeleteMy exciting plans? The LP was at work until 11:00, the boys were in the den playing video games, and I was working on last minute primary stuff so we'd be ready for the new year. I went to bed right after LP came home.
