Ho, Ho, Ho...yeah, whatever

This unhappy looking child is making a statement.

He's not unhappy about the new Norwich kit Santa brought him or the new scooter (also from the Man Himself), he's unhappy because I am taking pictures.

Grumpy-face: "Why do I always have to do this?"

DO WHAT? Ride around on Boxing Day without a care in the world while I snap a few photos for your stinking scrapbook????

Yes, I did refrain. This is only a quote from my mind that seems to have developed a mouth-censorship (thank Heavens)

Grumpy-face: "Why do I always have to have my picture taken?"

Well, that's the catch right there, pal. You DON'T always have to have your picture taken. IF I was ALWAYS snapping photos, I'd be able to put them on my blog. Lovely Christmas photos of your sister vomiting, your big brother vomiting, your other big brother just staying on the toilet since it was easier, your Momma lying on her bed texting the word "help" to the few that hadn't been hit by the flu downstairs playing the Wii and
WOW,
there'd be loads of photos of the house slowly being taken over by laundry and dishes. I might have even caught a few action shots of the mysterious elves who BROKE our Christmas tree while the momma laid in bed with a bucket in her arms.

Oh yes! How about the photos of YOUR head hung in the toilet on Christmas Eve? Yeah, that would have been cause for declaring that you, "always have to have" your picture taken.

Censored Me: "You'll thank me when you're older and have these nice pictures to look at."

Grumpy-face: "Thank you",  he mumbles unenthusiastically.

  3. Aw heck! I'm so sorry to hear you all were sick over Christmas. When our boys were little, it seemed like that happened every year here. Someone (or several someones) was always sick over the holiday. I hope all of you are feeling better now or will be soon. Hugs to you.

  4. So sorry yall were sick for Christmas!

And I say, the next time grumpy-face is hugging the porcelain throne, you should snap his picture. Just for posterity. And someday he will thank you for that picture! ;)

  5. Oh No!!! SO sorry. That's truly awful. At least you know realistically next year is almost guaranteed to be better?

Feel better soon. Make them help tackle the dishes and laundry.

  8. I have yet to develop a mouth/brain filter. I think it's because all my extra cells and such went to making bodies for my children. So it's their fault I tell it like I think it. Sorry about the puking. But hey, while the rest of us were gaining, you lost a few pounds, right? Glass half full. :)

  9. Thanks ever so much for not sharing the pictures from vomitty Christmas! Why does everyone always complain about pictures? We bloggers really have to face so much flak in the name of what we do. It's a travesty, really.

  11. Holy crap. That's a lot of vomit for one Christmas. I hope Santa didn't catch it from your family. He didn't eat the cookies did he?

My kids HATE when we break out the camera too. I think it's the new generation and their phobia of mom blogs.

  12. Maybe you should go all paparazzi on him, taking photos ALL. THE. TIME. He'll come to appreciate those brief candid moments.

  15. You've really had a rough go of it the last couple of months. Did you get to enjoy your oldest's visit at all? I hope so.

  16. Oh no! You too? We got hit right after Christmas so at least it waited a little longer for us. But it is brutal. And now we are following it up with colds. Boo. Stinking winter. I'm ready for summer.

I hope the rest of your holiday is MUCH better!

  17. You always have the best times!!
    or.
    not.
    sorry.
Hope you got to enjoy some time with your oldest boy. I hope he didn't get hit with the bug too. That's probably a sure way to keep him away next year.
    Hope you're all feeling better.

  19. Oh, what a miserable holiday! The CRUD hit us a couple of weeks before Christmas and has now hit again, but at least we were spared for Chrstmas Day, (which, by the way, turned out to be THE BEST CHRISTMAS EVER; stay tuned to my blog next week for exciting news!)
Hope everyone is well on the mend now, and by the way, I LOVED the commercial featuring R2 and CP30!

  20. MQ usually gets the same grumpy face when the camera comes out. That and her "growing out" hair are not making for the best pictures these days.

hope you all get and stay well enough that you can take tons of fabulous pictures... and catch a few smiles. ;)

  21. Happy New Year! Sorry to hear that you were ill. Hope everyone is feeling better. I am returning to the world of blogging after a brief break. Life hit me in the gut but 2011 will be better. Your son will appreciate all of those pictures someday ~ he just doesn't know it yet !

  23. YUK a vomiting holiday how sick. Pun intended. Maybe if you gave him that speach he might get it. Just how do you censor your mouth? I really need that skill and unfortunately I don't have it! But I want it!!!
