Forget the Tree in the Forest

If a blogger stops posting
when her husband returns from a deployment,

is anyone concerned that he might be
holding a pillow over her face to shut her up?

Ok, yes, the hubby is more demanding on my time than four young children on a summer holiday, but at least the camera is still clicking away.

No one gets between me and my Nikon.

I'm actually considering applying for a job JUST to get some "me" time.

How insane is that?

I'm crazy!

It's a photographer position...

Please don't be alarmed by the chokehold-like loving this little girl is receiving,
that wound on A2's face is from her.

...crazy like a fox.

Can you give me some creative ideas to explain the 12 year gap in my resume?

  2. Errrrr, if you get any good ideas on that gap in the resume' thing, please pass them along. lol

I'm thinking of getting a job myself. Just so I can interact with adults, face to face. Living with teenagers who act like I'm an idiot can get a little old sometimes, you know it? And my beloved husband, while he IS kind, happy and always interested - seems to have a much more exciting life than I do. I guess I'm just tired of being so blasted DULL!!! lol I need to find a way to get more involved with people, just to save my sanity I think. :) (And when I say more involved with people, I mean people who are not related to me and who don't treat me like I'm a limp, boring old dishrag.) ha!

  5. I just finished reading your last 3posts and did a backflip ( well, I thought about doing one) to celebrate the fact that your man is home! Celebrate! And...you have so many skills your resume would be pages and pages long. Don't doubt yourself. You are one strong independent, capable woman. Think about what it is you would like to do ~ in your spare time! LOL

  6. Good luck with the job hunt. I had a 12year gap too when I went back to the office grind. I listed every stinkin' volunteer job I had from PTO, to class mom, to scout leader ... called it life experiences.

(Glad to hear your hubs is home safe and sound. Thanks again for your service, all of you.)

  7. You were finding yourself. You were overseas. You're an American, and you didn't want to work for the English --who wants to work for the losing team? (ha ha -- don't kill me, and don't let any of your fine British readers kill me). You were abducted by aliens, and refused to get off the ship when they brought you back. Uhhhhhhhhhh.......you were blogging!

    What's the position?

    I'm 125% sure you'll get the job.

  9. I'm no help on the 12-year gap thing. I've got a 10 year gap going myself- even though I've done A LOT of cool stuff during that time- some of which is even relevant to my career field!

I want to approach the Conservation Garden down the street from my house about the position I know they are creating (and I'm perfect for it) but I'm scared of the rejection! I'm so lame. Where did my confidence go? Oh, year- lost it somewhere in that 10 year gap. Sound familiar?

Amyway, you're not alone in the wanting to get out of the house a little and do something that STAYS done- at least for a bit.

  11. LOL, I was just hoping you guys were making up for lost time! Although of course, after that last post, I kind of wondered.

Hmmmm, 12 year gap? You've got the most amazing life experience going on during that 12 year period. DOmestic Goddess; Financial Planner; Entertainment Director; Maintenance Person; CEO; Chief bottlewasher and bumwiper--yeah, not crazy about that one myself; magician; nurse practitioner; chauffer; and you know, the list goes on.....
