School's Out... well almost.

I'm rocking this mother thing!

Second day of the last week of school? I forgot Ky's Sport's Day. When I mentioned it to friends, they responded, "Oh...(insert shocked and stunned Good-mother facial expressions) well, how did she do?"

They didn't understand that I f o r g o t her Sport's Day. I didn't take her.

She has a party today, last day of school. I hope I don't forget that too.

  1. I can relate--it gets overwhelming.

I hope the party makes up for it.

  2. With moving and everything I forgot to buy a present in for K's teacher at the end of term. II was mortified and took a bottle of wine in later and she had gone home! I can be so rubbish sometimes

  3. LOL! SO something I would do. I forgot Jacob's big cub scout pack water gun fight this week. They look forward to it all summer. Thankfully he hasn't remembered yet either. :)

  4. Forgetting a huge event is the hallmark of good parenting. I'm sure of it.

When do your kids go back to school? Do they get a long break?

  5. OOps! It's not surprising though as we have so many things to remember that sometimes we just have to be human, not automatons! ,

  8. When one of my sons was quite young, he was invited to a friend's birthday party. I wrote it on the calendar so we wouldn't forget. We got a present bought for the child plenty of time ahead of the party, and I was feeling so proud of myself when I took him to drop him off at the friend's house for the party. He went to the door and knocked but no one answered. No one was at home. Later we found out that the party had been the week before. I had written it down on the wrong day of the calendar. :D Life goes on. HA HA HA!

You're doing a fantastic job with your kids, J. Don't let anyone ever tell you differently. These things happen. Ky will survive an occasional Ooops! here and there.

Hope you enjoy the weekend! :)

  12. Hi - thanks for your comments - yes, Harry Potter World is great although the lines were so long that we didn't actually do any of the rides, just walked around the area which was brilliant!! It was VERY crowded (and 96 degrees!!) Enjoy it! x

  13. At least, you did not leave her by a curb in a strange city and drive away like my mother did with my sister, realizing about 20 minutes later that she had only seven kids, not eight, with her. Fortunately, those were the years in America without crime, and we returned to find Danielle patiently sitting on that curb! I would not worry about the sports day too much; there is plenty of time ahead to forget more things. Kids are surprisingly resistant to the occasional and accidental bad effects of well intentioned parents.

BTW, I want to let you and other followers know that my Blest Atheist blogspot went down. I replaced it with 100th Lamb (www.emahlou.blogspot.com). I explain why there.

  14. Maybe it wasn't that you forgot, maybe Ky forgot.

  15. I am so paranoid that I am going to forget a lot of stuff this school year. With the lack of sleep and caring for the new baby I am afraid. But hey my kids will forgive me right? :)
