Wordless..for the most part..Wednesday

I took you for a drive yesterday. Did you enjoy it? I tried not to scare you, like pulling over to take pictures instead of shooting them all willy nilly out the windscreen (windshield to you Yanks).
In case the day was a blur (I know you have so many things going on right now), I'm posting the pictures to jog your memory of our afternoon.

Remember how you asked me not to get out of the car for this shot? How you were afraid I would be sneezing yellow Grapeseed Oil pollen for the rest of the day?

There's the sheep... waaay down there...

When you think of the U.K., what comes to mind? Red phone boxes, black cabs, Big Ben?

What do tourists from all parts of the world want their picture taken in front of? (No, not Tony Blair)

Why on earth would BT think it was ok to put a stupid sign in the window?!
I mean really, it couldn't be placed inside?
I don't want a picture of "Coins not Accepted".

And it's not just this phone box my friend,
it's all of them out here. Wrong. Just wrong.

Why didn't they just paint a big happy face on the clock tower while they were at it?!

Thinking

thinking

thoughts

"So, you happy here?"
"Actually, I'm leaning towards blowing this joint"

Um, yeah, you didn't laugh at it yesterday either...

Well, I'm sure you remember I pulled over several other times too, but I figure how many Hairy Coo pictures could one blog take?

Come round again , but hurry, our summer's nearly over!

  2. OK, did you get a new camera? These pictures rock! Love the phone booth, love the yellow fields, love the forward leaning gravestones. Very nice! Thanks for the ride! Sorry 'bout your allergies...here's a tissue.

  5. I laughed at your joke.

    Really.

And from your pictures the UK actually kind of looks like Canada. Interesting.

Perhaps you should get stationed in Canada next.... is that even possible? Oh wait, now that I think of it I think the States only has posts in ridiculous Canadian locations like WAAAAYYYY up north and it is still waaayyy below freezing there so you really wouldn't want to live there.

How about you go somewhere beautiful and tropical like Tahiti. I'd like to go to Tahiti to visit you when you live there so let me know.

    just kidding.

  6. You know my days of living in the UK are the fondest memories that I have...I'm such a perverse anglophile that I can only say aluminium and spell red as a colour...I get homesick for England to the point of being physically ill...I've decided it WAS home in a former lifetime! I'll never forget riding down the M40 with my best bud Audrey Mason going to Blackpool with our children when a rock hit the windscreen and she put her fist through it to make a "seeing" hole so fast, it blinded me! We then pulled over, she took a big wool blanket from the boot and spread it on the dash board for us to hold the ends and knocked the glass out quite quickly! Oh how I long for those days...
    hugs my Britty friend

  7. fun! i have pictures of me using a red phone box when I was in London last summer, and I call it the "requisite London picture" ditto the one of the family in front of Big Ben. No smiley face, thank goodness.

  8. Sandi, it's comments like yours scare the heck out of me. I am already dreading when they finally make me leave here-- I don't want to leave and have to miss this place!
I hope you get back here soon!

  10. So if I've read everything correctly on your blog (and if I didn't, it's because I'm not wearing my reading glasses so the words are looking a little fuzzy. lol), you are the wife of a member of the USAF, right? Stationed over in England. How flippin' cool! My son is over in Okinawa. He COULD have gotten England, but noooooooo, he thought a tropical island sounded more fun. (Goober.) If he was in England, I could take a cruise over to see them. A cruise to Okinawa? Not so much. (I don't fly, that's why all the talk about cruises). I would love to visit the UK, though. The Land of Harry Potter. My kind of place. :)

Glad you liked my "bra" post. Feel free to make it required reading for your husband. lol My husband's idea of "bra shopping" is to advise me to "go find a pretty one" and "I like pink". Woo-hoo. Glad he likes pink! And if they made a pink one sturdy enough to keep "my girls" up off the floor, I'd be more than happy to wear it. Men. Sometimes I just want to smack every single one I see. :)

I thought it was cool, by the way, that your post office has treats. Do they sell stickers too? Our general stores always have cute stickers.
Will you see this comment since it's not on your newest post?
    Hmmmm ...
comment back if you do. It will be our experiment.
