If you have no idea what I'm talking about, throw that rock from off your body and...
...pick up a copy of New Moon at your local library (thought I was going to say "run to the movies", didn't you?).
****No spoilers here****
Read that run-on sentence like it was meant to be read-- from a breathless, excited movie goer.
Son #2 and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and have intentions of seeing it a few more times. Part of my enjoyment was watching the teenage girls-- loved their energy. I also feel like Chris Weitz is to be congratulated for sticking VERY close to the book and even though he kept a little of Hardwicke's artsy spin on the film, it was done in a way that was more believable. Loved several scenes and wished I had a remote to rewind them, but out of respect for those of you STALLING, I won't discuss them just yet.
Have you been yet? What did you feel was improved ?

When was the last time a book series or movie had you marking days off of a calendar? Most importantly: Exactly WHEN is Eclipse scheduled to come out?

Harry Potter HBP is the last movie I counted down to, but I didn't get to see it the first night. It was my favorite Potter book. I can't wait for summer when the 1st of the Hallows comes out.
ReplyDeleteI have not read any of the twilight series.
I have seen New Moon yet, but I am so excited! I watched R. Patz on the Ellen show today and was literally jumping around like one of those teenage girls!
ReplyDeleteI read that Eclipse is coming out this June!
I saw this movie this morning with three other girlfriends. We're all Moms and Army wives and LOVED the series.
ReplyDeleteI thought the first movie was so bad I was seriously considering asking for my money back!! BLECH!! Just a total disappointment in almost every aspect.
So with this one I went into it with high hopes, but low expectations. And LOVED LOVED LOVED it!!! A different director and more money really made a huge difference.
Edward still isn't nearly as hot as the Edward in my mind though. The actor playing Jasper is still a joke. Bella can't close her mouth even when not speaking. The makeup was MUCH better. Jacob was utterly hotsie totsie and that is so weird to say because I'm old enough to be his Mom!!! And my heart was totally broken for him too. This movie was fabulous and fans of the books should be much happier this time around.
I loved the movie!! And I heard today that Eclipse will be out during the summer instead of the fall. We've already made our plans for the 12:01AM showing for that one as well...and the kids here were also quite entertaining to be around during the movie. Glad you enjoyed it as well!!!
ReplyDeleteGAWD!!!!!!!! Will people stop talking about it? Geesh. I am almost ready to pick up a copy but I know that I get easily addicted.
ReplyDeleteI have no time. I want to hear just one person say IT'S NOT WORTH YOUR TIME. LOL.
I agree with Robyn. I've never read a word of the Twilight series, but I am wholeheartedly, unabashedly, and completely addicted to Harry Potter. I counted down the days to the last movie, as I have every one since #3 (took me a little while to get on the bandwagon), and I am just as anxiously awaiting the 1st of the movies for Book 7. LOVE IT!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo though I don't have a soft spot in my heart for vampires, I DO know how you feel!
Well I for one never listen to critics...and since I've never seen a movie that was half as good as the book, I'm not usually disappointed, because I understand you can't fit several days reading into a couple of hours...a miniseries...that would have been a fine thing...
ReplyDeleteSandi
It appears Casa Hice is behind the eight ball with all thing vampirey - which is a shame because I do love me some vampires yannow.
ReplyDeleteI was kind of under the impression that Twighlight was earmarked for teens. But in true Harry Potter-esque fashion, it's an international cult sensation. That Robert Pattinson guy is everywhere all at once!
I guess I'd better get on the stick and finally get my Twilight on. But I need a little advice... book or movie first?
Email me if you can with any tips: AAHice@aol.com
Thanks. XO
I saw a friend last night who had been to see it and said it was really great. I'm probably going to have to wait for Thanksgiving to go see it, but I can hardly wait!
ReplyDeleteIt's actually on at the drive-in movie right now but I can't find anyone to go with me & there is no way I'm going alone. However, I've hard nothing but positive reactions from people so far and I never listen to the critics anyway. They are all mostly twits.
Well, I know you and I already talked about it, but I really liked the artsy side of the movie (like the fight scenes, etc). And like you I love that the movie was SO CLOSE to the book. With the first movie I kept pausing it for the hubby and explaining to him why Edward reacted a certain way or why Bella did what she did and what scenes they left out. I don't think I will have to do any of that with New Moon. And I think hubby will actually get a kick out of it too.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I love Jacob. Even more now than I did before. But I'm still team Edward too. ;)
I can't wait to see it again. And again. And again...
Several of our patients saw it last night and came back glowing. Totally all about Jacob. :)
