Women gather together to wear silly hats, eat dainty food, and forget how unresponsive their husbands are. Men gather to talk sports, eat heavy food, and forget how demanding their wives are. Only where children gather is there any real chance of fun. ~Mignon McLaughlin, The Neurotic's Notebook, 1960
This quote was not written by anyone who has ever been to my house at bedtime.

Nor was it written by anyone who has spent the holidays with my family.
ReplyDeleteI think it was written by someone who had observed my husband :)
ReplyDeleteSo you're saying that you're ALL fun at bedtime? Not just the kids?
ReplyDeleteGive me the naughty corner any day. x
ReplyDeleteok, only that last line....

Yeah, but I love the quote! It's so true... However, I always prefer being with the kids. I'm happiest when interacting with children. You know. Now that mine are grown & gone from home....
ReplyDeleteI want to sit at the children's table!
ReplyDeleteMove over, MPM.. I'm bringing my plate to that table too.
