("...all the better for you not to see me, Mother") with a
Blues Clues (hand-me-down) summer cap throwing
a dark shadow over most of your face.

Your little hands are carefully removing small
bits and pieces from my computer desk.
I know you're there dear.
I know it painfully because in this precious, gorgeous Kodak moment I am cursing the fact that my camera is in the kitchen.

Don't you wish (like I do) that you could plug into your brain somehow and download the photos we see with our eyes when no camera is around?
ReplyDeleteI have been trying, for YEARS, to get a camcorder for my brain...maybe one day.
I have missed so many Kodak moments because my camera was out of reach!
ReplyDeleteI've missed alot of Kodak moments too, but I have to wonder - how much more Kodakian could it have been than this one? And in missing the photo you wrote some gorgeous words instead.
ReplyDeleteWe've ALL missed Kodak moments. You're not alone!
ReplyDeleteso the truth----i think it might be wise to invest in another little "snapper" camera so you can put it in another room of the house :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes our greatest photos are those taken with our minds via our heart..
ReplyDeleteYour lit'l one is precious..
She is SUCH a cutie!!
ReplyDeleteI hate it when I miss those once in a lifetime moments. Oh well, at least you can write about it, and remember it that way.
You may have missed THAT moment, but you caught a beautiful, innocent moment on your camera in this picture of Miss Ky. What a sweet little face and such sparkling eyes. Lovely words as well.
ReplyDeleteMango girl has a GREAT idea. If she can make it happen she'll make a million!
ReplyDelete:)
p.s. I've missed many kodak moments and many journal entries of cute things Tristan has said. Rats on that. Must try to write SOMETHING down from his childhood. Seems like they ALWAYS ask "what did I say when I was a baby?"
I don't remember what III said five minutes ago, and you want to know about 20 years ago?
You tell me. You tell me. You're a lot more likely to remember than I am.
One day I'm going to have a camera implanted in my palm. That's fix things.
ReplyDeleteShe is an angel!
ReplyDeleteEver since I became a Mommy, how I wish my eyes were camera lens so that I'll never miss an expression, a moment, and my long hair can connect to my PC so that I can download all those candid shots of my boys....
I ALWAYS neglect to take my camera with me so I miss alot of moments.
ReplyDeleteThat picture is GORGEOUS!
She is absolutely beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteOoooo oooooo oooooooo!!!!! I like Mango's idea! Who do we talk to about making it happen???
ReplyDeleteLOVE the picture. A perfect capture. Really.
Aw..such a great photo. She's such a little darling.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it the camera is never around when you really want it, and when you have it with you, there's nothing exciting to take a picture of?
Hope you have a good weekend. :D
You didn't need your camera. You got it captured in words. Gorgeous you and her.
ReplyDeleteKind of aMurphy's Law thing. Miss Ky is SCRUMPTIOUS!
ReplyDeleteI define The Lost Kodak Moment. I am the embodiement of it. Then again, with small children, one should live with a camera strapped to one's hand 24/7
ReplyDeleteCiao and thanks for stopping over at my place.
Lola
I feel your pain!
ReplyDeleteVery nice snap of cute kid
ReplyDeleteThat kid is the cutest thing EVER. Seriously. She'll be asked out on dates in kindergarten.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog header quote.
