Please, No Team Captains...

It's quite sad really.

You light up when you see her name in your inbox.
You're eager to hear what she has to say, and when she's absent for a few days, you actually worry about her.
You were never actually delusional enough to think you were "BFF", but you thought that
maybe,
just maybe,
she was excited to hear about you as well.

And then you open up her blog...
and no matter how many times you scroll through the blog list,
my your name's not there!

It's just wrong.
The injustice in the world.

This was actually tongue-in-cheek, but I have to confess, I began to giggle as I thought of the people who might rush to their side bars to see if I was writing about them....

  1. Funny you should mention this...

I just cleaned mine up a little bit and am actually considering taking it down all together. I mean I'm always finding new and I can't update the sidebar as often as I like. And I figure that if I don't have one at all, then no one's feelings get hurt.

And then there is the opposite...I stumbled on a blog not too long ago that had ME on their roll, and I had never seen them before.

  2. Whew! Not me. I was worried for a second there.
Do you know how long it has been since I've updated that thing? Forever! I really should get to it.
    Thanks for the reminder. :)

  3. Oh, you're there baby, you're there. You're like stop number one on this twisted ride, child. Yes you are! (I'm not sure who I'm channelling but the content is real.)

  5. I know it wasn't me, thank God. Because I have something in parentheses after yours. I'm sorry you got your feelings hurt.

  6. I am one of those people who don't make it onto other blog lists. Oh well. I am used to it. I have to keep adding to my list or I forget that great blog I just found and can never find again!

Don't worry - people are reading you!

  7. oh golly, my blogroll is so far behind, I think I might just delete the whole thing. so don't look at mine, because since you started reading me after last August, I can pretty much guarantee you're not on there. there are people on there I haven't read in months, and the ones I check regularly aren't. sigh.

  8. I know you're not talking about me, girl. You better not be. :) My Hunny erased the history on my computer and I'm going back to my blogroll in order to link to my friends, finding that it's been WAY too long since I've updated and many of my new favorites aren't there. The travesty!

  9. I can't even remember the last time I updated my sidebar's blogroll... I tend to rely more on my google reader.

  10. Ok - salt in my wound...I removed my blog list last week since it was missing so many of the great blogs I have recently found...and have been wanting to update the list and repost...

I can just see everyone going to look at their own lists now...it is so hard to keep them up...wonder if there is a way to link it to google reader??

  12. Oh the horror of so many decisions when one is beginning a blog. I dithered, I wondered, I agonized over so many things ... paralyzed with indecision -- Uh WAIT! No I didn't ... I just thought: "How in the world do I get that part working? Fiddle Dee Dee, I'll think about that tomorra. Well, from my blogroll you can see I have no list of faves because THAT tomorrow still hasn't arrived. After reading your post, I think I'll just keep on blogging without partnering. Then EVERYBODY's happy. (Truth: I don't want to spend any more time wrestling blogger dashboard to the ground -- I'm just plain exhausted with that obstinate bloke!) I love coming to see you in the gutter; the stars shine so brightly as we lay head-to-head laughing about life. You're precious! : )

  14. hi jeri,
    i understand.

i keep a blog roll in my google reader and i love how it shows when my favorite bloggers post a new post. it only shows if there are new posts. the links stay hidden until a new post is posted. i love it cause i don't click over and over on blogs i love who haven't posted in awhile. i love using this method of blog roll because i won't forget to check into any of my favorites.

and absolutely jeri, you are one of my favorites and you are on my google reader blog roll list.

so glad to have crossed your path. hope the tears get easier today about your beloved pup. you made it all come back for me.

    **hugs** beany :)
