You see, she can climb in and out of her crib, and she's afraid she might miss something...
like other kids' lego creations (you have to destroy them at exactly the right moment),
the stack of newly laundered and folded clothes placed outside the bedroom door (while she "slept") needed trying on again to check for shrinkage,
different food may have entered the pantry or the refrigerator (and it's important to check often).
Then there's the preparation for an American Idol audition...
Don't let the smile fool you.
An overtired toddler WILL morph into a whiny, crying mess every 20 minutes or so.
Calgon anyone?

Say it isn't so! Just look at that sweet, cherub smile.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm. She is certainly good at fooling the camera, isn't she? I am so sorry that she isn't napping! I just caught up on your posts and I am really happy that you can now unpack and that you have heat! YEAH!
ReplyDeleteThe mother-in-law issue? Wow - yours sounds like quite a treat. Mine doesn't know what to do with me but does include my name on cards and packages!
But bit but she looks so innocent......
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness---she is sooo yummy!! I am sorry she didn't nap tho--I remember those days---some times you just need them to sleep!
ReplyDeleteBeen there, got the teeshirt. The whole outfit indeed. You have my sympathy but these days pass quickly and she's so so so SO cute!!
ReplyDeleteI had a toddler sans nap too. Not a nice thing. Hopefully early bedtime tonight !?!
ReplyDeleteSomebody's feeling really good. Put some rum in her bottle;) JK everyone, JK. Sorta.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter didn't nap today either, so guess who has one super buff arm from carrying her around Super Wal-Mart for an hour while grocery shopping today?? ow.
ReplyDeleteOn the bright side, she's rockin out some Very cute jammies.
Blessings, Carolynn
if there is a moment I could see this smile, I wouldn't mind the 20mins of crazy whining. *wink*
ReplyDeleteI want to know what it is that you do with that bug honkin' microphone at your house...
ReplyDeletenaps are for twerps
ReplyDeleteI couldn't handle this anymore no matter how cute. I'd swat her hiney and put her back in the bed. I used to tell my daughter to just lay there awake but not to get up, because mommie needed the rest. Yeah it might be a grumpy response but it worked.
ReplyDeleteI always feel so guilty when I laugh at your 'pain'. LOL! She is adorable and it's a good thing because it sounds like she needs to be right now!
ReplyDeleteWhat doesn't kill you makes you stronger?!?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteI would so be voting for her!!
ReplyDeleteShe's busy for sure, but she's always been able to pose beautifully for a camera, hasn't she.
ReplyDeleteI so love that picture. She's adorable.
ReplyDeleteYes, my 4yo and 6yo do that, too. At least she rewards you with that beautiful smile. Though I know from experience that sometimes it's easy to miss that when you're frustrated. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteAh, how well I remember those days! Now I just have a 4-1/2-yr old that I wish desperately would still nap because I need the rest!!! She goes like the Energizer Bunny ALL. DAY. LONG.
ReplyDeleteI hope that Miss Ky had a good sleep last night and you too!
ReplyDeleteOh I don't miss that one bit.. but they sure are cute when they're someone else's. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo who was ACTUALLY caught napping? !!
ReplyDeleteBoth of mine stopped napping completely before they each turned two. It was horrible. Good luck getting a nap in tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteBut look how happy (and cute!) she is. Come on!
ReplyDeleteJust dropped by to let you know that there is an award for you at my place.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I know that sly smile all too well. :)
ReplyDeleteUgh!!! So sorry. I know a day without their nap, is like a day in hell.
ReplyDeleteShe.Is.Darling.
ReplyDeleteBut I know that whiny, crying mess well. For their own preservation it's interspersed with those lovely giggling smiles.
She is too cute!
ReplyDeleteMay nap times be much better.
. . . I have that right now and the witching hour is torture!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe looks like a winner to me! I'd vote for her whether she can sing or not. :)
