unscheduled Pukefests
laundry piles you can never seem to find the bottom of
empty milk containers in the fridge
empty Hostess boxes in your previously undetected hiding spot
"Not Me!" evidence in every corner of the house
continual practice at cleaning countertops since right after you finish bread crumbs and smears of peanut butter will miraculously appear
baby's repeating words you don't use, words used to describe a female figure that may have taken a boys' DS away
even the thickest skin tearing with remarks of a child
calls from school
calls from coaches
and regardless of how many errands need running or obligations that need fulfilling, THAT will be the time a child receives an award at school.
you will be expected to be there.
wearing that supportive smile.
even though you know it was him who ate your cupcake.
*Dear reader, please excuse this blogger from her comment homework. Her broadband ate it.

Haha! Ah yes. All the glories of motherhood. ;)
ReplyDeleteCouldn't have said it better...and couldn't relate more. :)
ReplyDeleteSorry about your broadband monster.
I'm chuckling, as I recall those days!
ReplyDelete~AM
and that is the rest of the story...
ReplyDeleteGah.
ReplyDeleteSeriously. If I'd had the inside scoop before joining the club... nah, I'd have still wanted in. Mostly because I wouldn't have believed it, but at the end of the day (week, month, crisis) they are worth it. :o)
ReplyDeleteMuch Love,
Carolynn

You truly are a world-class mother. It's not an easy job, or so I've heard. I'll buy you all the cupcakes you want....when I get back.
ReplyDeleteNicely put! Bitter sweet, but mostly sweet. Now wipe that counter again!
ReplyDeleteOne day you will look back on all of this with fond memories.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comments on my blog. I hoped that your broadband had been fixed.
Many of these days I have already lived through and survived but there are still more ahead. Hanging on and hanging in there--hope you are too. :)
ReplyDeleteRegardless of what anyone says, motherhood is the most difficult job there is. Anyone can go to work everyday. It takes a strong woman to stay at home, go through all the Hell that you go through with raising kids, and still find the humor in it. I know because I did it. When I was growing up we were the weird kids from the broken home. When my kids were growing up they were the weird kids from the original two parents with a mom that didn't work outside the home.
ReplyDeleteYou will be able to look back & roar with laughter one day. I do!
Hug & Kisses...
